The 2nd Chance Program is a program that offers a bond to a selected defendant. While on bond the defendant must have a clear record for 180 days or 6 months. The Judge may order the defendant to attend rehab or educational classes. Once all requests are met the judge will then dismiss and expunge current charges held on the defendant's record.
That's right, the Second Chance Bond is refundable. Two weeks after the defendant has been released, 85% will be refunded. Upon completion of the full 6 months, the remainder will be refunded, minus $100.
$100 is for monitoring fees. Monitoring fees consist of running defendants name through NCIC once a month to make sure defendant hasn't gotten any new charges during the program.
